The Director Guild of America announced their nominees today for the DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for 2012.
The nominees are:
- Ben Affleck, Argo
- Kathryn Bigelow, Zero Dark Thirty
- Tom Hooper, Les Miserables
- Ang Lee, Life of Pi
- Steven Spielberg, Lincoln
Notable omissions this year include Quentin Tarantino for Django Unchained, Paul Thomas Anderson for The Master, David O. Russell for Silver Linings Playbook, and Wes Anderson for Moonrise Kingdom.
With rare exceptions, the winner of the DGA award has often been a key indicator of which filmmaker will win the Academy Award for Best Director.
The winner will be named at the 65th Annual DGA Awards Dinner on Febnuary 2.
